10 Things I have learnt this week

1. Walking downhill is not easier than walking uphill, in fact it is much harder.

2. When I’m stressed I grind my teeth resulting in toothache. I might even need a biteplate.

3. Lamb ribs from Beluga is awesome.

4. English toffee and chocolate frozen yoghurt are great together.

5. Even 80 year olds can write exams.

6. There are some books I can read over and over and over.

7. Mcsteamy is way hotter than Mcdreamy.

8. Two birthday cakes are better than one.

9. Buying me a birthday gift is not easy – good luck and thanks to those who attempt to get this right every year.

10.  Johnny Depp is one weird actor – love him.


10 Things I have learnt this week

  1. Do less but make sure that what you choose to do matters to you.
  2. Working out a budget is exhausting.
  3. I never realised how much I like burgers until I went to Royale Eatery.
  4. Having Margherita pizza at The Woodstock Lounge is the perfect way to spend a cold rainy Saturday afternoon.
  5. Scottish men are hot.
  6. Officially appreciate these extra long weekends.
  7. Having boeber when it’s not Ramadan is a real treat.
  8. It’s finally getting cold enough for me to wear socks.
  9. Sometimes cabs will take the long way just to charge you extra.
  10. Sharing your meal is a great way to try a variety of different food and flavours.

10 Things I have learnt this week

  1. I am a terrible patient – just leave me the hell alone!
  2. There is such a thing as too much studying.
  3. Too many public holidays confuse me. Is it Tuesday? Saturday? Thursday? Someone please tell me what day it is!
  4. A R99 (£8/€10/$12) phone is not so bad. I can make calls and send messages – isn’t that what phones are supposed to do?
  5. I finally know how to load film into an analogue camera. And some cameras can work without batteries.
  6. After some practise shopping is something one can become good at.
  7. Sometimes the least expensive thing holds the most value.
  8. It’s amazing how you can find someone with common interests even if they live on a different continent and even if you have never met.
  9. All a girl really needs is a bag with enough space to carry her phone, keys, money and lip gloss.
  10. Socks are over rated.

10 Things I have learnt this week

1. People watching in Long Street is extremely entertaining.

2. Leaving assignments till the last-minute means having to pull an all nighter to complete it.

3. The letter G is very important – makes it harder to type when the it has broken off from the keyboard.

4. I can survive without a cellphone.

5. Time can fly even when you’re not having fun.

6. Do not eat 3 easter eggs in quick succession.

7. Going to the hairdresser is something every girl should do often.

8. It still amazes how a little bit of rain scares Cape Townians.

9. I crave swimming when I am not able to go.

10. Learning the past tense in Italian is easier than learning the present tense.



10 Things I have learnt this week

1. Root canal is not fun. Not one bit.

2. I can now swim freestyle – it is possible to surf but not know how to swim.

3. At some point you have to take a stand even if it means making an enemy.

4. Finally putting a face to a name is cool.

5. Sometimes I actually crave chocolate.

6. Tooth ache is a bitch.

7. I hate writing when I am forced to write.

8. Cyclists have nice asses.

9. Listening to a 2 year old white jewish girl singing “Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika” was the cutest thing I heard this year.

10. Pool chemicals can ‘eat’ a bathing costume.


10 Things I have learnt this week

1. It is possible to just quit smoking.

2. Boiling water in the morning really must be an acquired taste.

3. When it comes to learning “Embrace what you do not like” – Federica Marchesini

4. My new favourite milkshake flavour is turkish delight.

5. I am still the Queen of Procrastination.

6. Times really does fly. It’s almost March!!!

7. If you have money in your purse/wallet you will spend it.

8. I judge a book by its cover. Even though I love a good thriller, pink and baby blue chick lit covers call out to me all the time.

9. I honestly do not give a shit about work anymore – I’m not bothered pretend to care either.

10.  It’s time for my 10 things to evolve – new weekly posts will feature 10 things I like, 10 things I don’t like, 10 things I want to do before I die, 10 countries I want to see, 10 movies I can never get enough, 10 anything really.


10 Things learnt

Today’s list is from one of my readers – Thanks Zee.

1. I don’t trust people who don’t eat….they usually have to find other (devious) ways to spend their time.

2.I love 80’s music..Cyndi Lauper and all.

3.Don’t get reality shows..there’s scripts, there are actors, so where’s the reality?

4.Prefers the ‘no make-up’ look, we came with no mask, I suggest we leave without it.

5. History intrigues me, that’s probably my nerdyness speaking but the thought of a visit to the museum, still gets me excited!

6. Trains in Cape Town is not for the faint hearted it’s like playing russian roulette…you may not lose your life, but you may just lose your valuables (so go easy on the gold).

7. You should never have to change to please someone else or for the convenience of someone else…a cliche but true.

8.Watching a movie in a cinema is, and always will be cool, provided its a good movie.

9. For some people, love don’t exist unless its put on display, so you couldn’t tell your loved one, what you wanted to their face? It had to be broad casted via Facebook, twitter and any other social network that would house your OTT DOA?

10.I’m good at organizing things, provided its something I want to be involved in, anything creative works for me 😉
